Jacqueline Manning, the Founder of New Light Investigations, is a highly accomplished professional with a specialization in criminal defense cases. With a wealth of expertise and experience, Jacqueline served as the Managing Director of Investigations for Integrated Security Services in Hartford, CT, from 2009 to 2017, overseeing a diverse range of investigations. Her responsibilities included federal and state criminal defense cases, Petitions for Writs of Habeas Corpus, civil rights violations, corporate and insurance fraud, civil litigation, comprehensive backgrounds, and due diligence investigations, as well as police misconduct investigations for the City of Hartford-Civilian Complaint Review Board.

Before transitioning to founding her own private investigation business, Jacqueline excelled as an investigative journalist and photojournalist for prominent publications such as the Southington Observer and the Bristol Press. Her journalistic background, combined with her attendance at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 1995, equipped her with strong research, communication, and storytelling skills.

Jacqueline's remarkable expertise and experience were further recognized when she was selected by CBS Entertainment to demonstrate her detective skills on the reality series, Hunted. Working alongside elite investigators from intelligence agencies, law enforcement, and the military, she tracked down every day U.S. citizens acting as fugitives.

Johannie Cruz

Johannie Cruz is the Managing Partner of New Light Investigations. She is a highly skilled and dedicated professional specializing in private investigations, with expertise in comprehensive background checks, surveillance, infidelity cases, locating individuals, and civil/domestic investigations. With extensive experience working in metropolitan and suburban environments and being a long-term resident of Connecticut, she is deeply committed and passionate about assisting and supporting others during their most challenging times.

Johannie’s career journey led her to gain valuable experience while working at a reputable private investigation company in New York. It was there that she met her business partner, Jacqueline Manning, and joined forces to establish New Light Investigations. United in their commitment, they form a powerful and dedicated team, striving to deliver exceptional services to their valued clients.

As a native of Puerto Rico, Johannie's fluency in both English and Spanish is an asset to her investigative work. She excels as an effective interpreter, ensuring seamless communication and understanding for clients who require language assistance. Johannie's bilingual capabilities enable her to connect effortlessly with a diverse clientele, providing exceptional support and service.

Johannie approaches each case with a profound sense of seriousness, empathy, and understanding; she meticulously examines every detail, striving to uncover the truth clients seek and deserve. She firmly believes in effective communication, maintaining professionalism, and delivering reliable results. Jonathan Turner
Operations Manager & Lead Investigator

​Jonathan Turner has dedicated more than 25 years to protecting communities and uncovering the truth through military service, law enforcement, and private investigations. As Operations Manager and Lead Investigator at New Light Investigations, he brings a steady, disciplined approach to every case, ensuring clients receive clear, reliable answers when they need them most.

Jonathan served 16 years in the U.S. Army National Guard, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. His career included multiple overseas deployments and stateside humanitarian missions before his honorable retirement due to injury. As a disabled veteran, he carries forward the values of resilience, service, and integrity that defined his military career.

He went on to serve nearly a decade as a Police Officer with the Springfield Police Department, where he gained extensive experience in investigations, emergency response, and courtroom testimony. His police career concluded with an honorable retirement following a line-of-duty injury, a testament to his commitment and sacrifice in service to the community. Today, he applies that same dedication to detail and integrity in the private sector, specializing in background checks, surveillance, and investigative services for individuals, businesses, and legal professionals.

His service has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Springfield Police Department Personal Integrity Award, multiple Army Commendation and Achievement Medals, a Navy Achievement Medal, and several other honors for service and training excellence.

Jonathan holds multiple degrees in Criminal Justice, culminating in a Master’s degree, and is a commissioned Notary Public. He is also pursuing a second Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, expanding his expertise to meet the evolving demands of modern investigations.

Beyond his professional work, Jonathan is deeply committed to community service. He has served for over four years on the Tolland Veterans Recognition Commission, honoring and supporting fellow veterans. Since 2017, he has also been an active leader in Scouting America where he has served various leadership roles in both Cub Scout Packs and Boy Scout Troops, mentoring youth and helping to guide the next generation in leadership, service, and character development.

As Operations Manager at New Light Investigations, Jonathan oversees all aspects of daily operations with a focus on clarity, accountability, and client satisfaction. He leads and develops the investigative team, reviews case strategies and reports for accuracy, and ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards. He serves as the primary liaison for clients, providing timely updates and reliable results, while also driving process improvements through the development of standard operating procedures and investigative frameworks. By aligning resources, technology, and personnel, Jonathan ensures that New Light Investigations continues to deliver professional, discreet, and results-driven services to every client.
